What's the best part about Christmas? The time with family? The good food? The spcial gatherings? The gifts?
As great as all those things are, often they can disappoint. Someone gets sick or can't show up. A disagreement breaks out. The food gets over cooked. The gifts aren't exactly what we want. And even if it goes all exactly according to plan, still it all comes to an end. Family leaves. Food gets eaten. Gathering end. The gifts get used, broken or old. None of it provides lasting joy.
